Looking at your Weird & Wired Future with Perimeter Institute and TVO

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, October 2, 2009 – From deep inside the sewers of Vienna, site of groundbreaking quantum teleportation experiments, to cutting-edge quantum computing labs, to voyages into the minds of the world’s brightest thinkers, including renowned British scientist Stephen Hawking, The Quantum Tamers: Revealing Our Weird and Wired Future is a new documentary that explores the coming quantum technological revolution. Don’t miss your chance to watch it at the Quantum to Cosmos Film Festival or on TVO.

Shot in High Definition in 16 cities in 6 countries, the documentary blends the observations of 19 top international scientists with dance and animation sequences to convey abstract ideas in highly visual ways and previews some amazing technologies of tomorrow. On the Big Screen

See it on the cinema screen on-site at Perimeter Institute’s Quantum to Cosmos Festival in Waterloo, running from October 15-25. The documentary is part of the Q2C Film Festival (October 16-24) sponsored by The Record and held at the Princess Twin theatres. On TVO

If you can’t make it to the theatre, then settle into the couch and catch The Quantum Tamers on TVO! Your family and friends across Canada can enjoy it on Tuesday, October 20 at 10:00 pm (EDT) in a newly created science strand on TVO. The TVO signal can be found nationwide on Bell TV channel 265 or Shaw Direct/Star Choice channel 353 and on Channel 2 in most areas of Ontario.

The full-length version of The Quantum Tamers will not be viewable online.

Quantum to Cosmos: Ideas for the Future (Q2C) will take a global audience from the strange world of subatomic particles to the outer frontiers of the universe.
