Q2C Wrap - Up
In this closing session, festival panelists will look back over the preceding ten days to review what we've learned about the Quantum, the Cosmos, and Ideas for the Future.
Wilson da Silva, Editor, COSMOS Magazine
Mr. da Silva is a science journalist and a founder of COSMOS. He is a former on-air reporter and producer for ‘Quantum' on Australia's ABC TV, has been a foreign correspondent for the global newswire Reuters, and is a past president of the World Federation of Science Journalists. He is also the winner of many journalism and film awards.
Raymond Laflamme, Director
- University of Waterloo/IQC
Raymond Laflamme is Director of the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) and an Associate Faculty at Perimeter Institute. His most important scientific contributions include theoretical and experimental methods to robustly control quantum information processors and a radically new approach to quantum computing using linear optics.
Neil Turok, Director, Perimeter Institute
- Perimeter Institute
Dr. Turok is the Director of Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. He has worked in a number of areas of theoretical physics and cosmology, focusing on developing fundamental theories and new observational tests. With Stephen Hawking, he developed the Hawking-Turok instanton solutions describing the birth of inflationary universes, and with Paul Steinhardt developed a cyclic theory of the universe.
